Dry port between East and WestFényeslitke – Komoró Záhony and its locality is the European Union’s eastern border, and an obligatory connection and cargo transhipping point between the so called wide-gauge railway line, used in the ex-Soviet Union, and the European normal-gauge railway line. Due to the continuously developing business opportunities the area where the two railway gauges meet is perfectly suitable for logistic activities (such as cargo handling, and packaging tasks), and for building goods distributing and processing factories and plants, in addition to the long-distance transportation tasks. This region is exceptionally favourable owing to the increasing Eastern-European investment intentions; the supplied raw materials will be sold as “EU products” after processing. The project’s primary objectives are to develop an industrial area with complete infrastructure and to find and ‘settle’ investors. The industrial area located along the European Union’s transit corridor no. 5 opens new dimensions with the developments presented in the brochure and forms a bridge between the markets of the European Union’s western countries and the Eastern and Western Asian cargo transport. This region is characterized by a high rate of unemployment, it is called a disadvantaged region. The investments aiming at creating jobs, which improve the employment rate, and developing the region’s economy, commerce, culture and tourism are greatly supported and appreciated by the state of Hungary. The area’s parameters On the 160-hectare industrial-logistic area every public utility is available for the new businesses.
